Commissioning Artwork or Buying Online

I wish for my collectors to be really happy with their original artwork, to take much enjoyment from it for many years to come, and for the process of commissioning or buying to be as rewarding, clear and easy as possible. Whilst I have not had any issues with the quality and delivery of artwork, I outline details below so that my buyers are clear about the process.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to know anything further.

Terms and Conditions

  • The collaboration between the artist and the collector should be a really rewarding and enjoyable process, with the final outcome being a unique original painting that meets the vision for both parties concerned.

The first things to consider when discussing a commission is the subject matter, scale, and medium. It is worth taking the time to carefully consider that the collector and artist’s vision are both aligned.

The majority of my collectors commission me to make unique paintings for them. Most of these paintings tend to be large artworks and might either be abstracts or abstracted landscapes of places that are particularly important to the collector.

Initial ideas on the content for the commission would be considered and discussed and agreed before the painting is begun. If the work is to be a landscape then it would be advantageous if I was able to travel there.

Each commission is very different. Pricing and terms will be determined by the nature and scale of the project. Normally a 50% deposit would be required before the commission commences with the remainder due on completion.

My oil painting commissions for landscapes typically start at £550 for a 20 × 20 cm oil painting and increase depending on scale, materials, time and any travel involved. A 1m x 1m landscape commission would typically start at £4,000.

Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss a painting you may have in mind.

Buying an Original Artwork online

  • Depending on destination, please allow 10 days for delivery of your purchase after placing your order online. The buyer will be contacted should the timescale be different.

  • To date there has never been an artwork that has been returned. Should, however, the artwork that has been purchased online not be right and need to be returned, the buyer needs to advise this within 48 hours via the Contact Form. The artwork must be returned in its original packaging and received back at the artist’s studio within 12 days of the date of its receipt with the buyer.

  • If it has been agreed that the artwork can be returned, the buyer is responsible for its safe return in its original packaging. A full refund (excluding the original shopping costs) will be made if the artwork is in the condition it was when it originally left the artist’s studio.

  • The buyer must advise of any damage to artwork within 24 hours of receipt via the Contact Form . There should be clear photographs of damage to the packaging prior to opening and then of the artwork within. These need to be taken at the time of receipt and preferably advised to the carrier at the time.

  • All artworks will be professionally wrapped and packaged. They should arrive in the condition they were sent. The carrier and cost of shipping can be chosen at checkout. This is an extra cost which is payable by the buyer and added to the invoice. The buyer is responsible for all import duties / taxes that may be applicable.

  • Please contact me directly regarding shipping of artworks over 1m x 1m. We will work out the best means of safe transport.
